The kids had us up before 7:00am again this morning. We noticed an all you can eat buffet at one of the hotels about a block away so decided we’d give it a try. That was a mistake. It was a small Asian-themed buffet. There were scrambled eggs and pancakes, but that was about it for American breakfast fare. The staff wasn’t very friendly either. We should have gone elsewhere but ended up eating breakfast there.
After breakfast, we returned to the hotel and changed into our swimwear. We headed to Waikiki Beach for an hour of fun before we had to check out of the hotel. We finished packing our luggage and checked out at noon. We dropped our luggage at the bell desk and wandered through a couple of shops nearby until it was time to meet our shuttle to the pier. By 1:00 we were on the shuttle and headed to the pier.
Once we arrived at the pier, we checked in for the cruise. It was pretty quiet when we arrived so we were checked in within about 15 minutes and headed on to the ship. Our room was ready so we dropped off our backpacks and then headed to the Windjammer Cafe for some lunch. The Windjammer is the buffet restaurant on board. After lunch we explored the ship for a while and played a round of mini golf before returning to our room. Our suitcases had arrived by then so we played some luggage Tetris as we figured out where to put the gear for 4 people in the limited storage in the room.
It was time to head to dinner before long. We were assigned a table for 4 so we have the table to ourselves. Dinner service was a little slow for some reason, but our waiters seem very friendly and the food was good. After dinner we headed to the arcade. The arcade machines were supposed to be free for an hour, but someone forgot to flip the switch. We waited for a few minutes before giving up and heading to the evening show in the theatre instead. They had some local Hawaiian singers and dancers performing. We missed the first half of the performance but enjoyed watching the second half.
The kids went to check out the kid’s club after the show while the adults had some relax time. We picked the kids up after an hour and returned to the room to get ready for bed. The ship is staying in Honolulu overnight. Tomorrow we are heading back to Waikiki for the Atlantis Submarine!
