We woke up fairly early this morning. We’re still operating on Calgary time which is 3 hours ahead of Hawaii. After chatting with our friends over breakfast, we got cleaned up and headed out to explore. Felix had to attend school so he didn’t join us. Michael went with the Bryans to spends more time with Flora. The first stop was the Tropical Farms Macadamia Nut Farm on the East side of the island. We found this farm when we visited Oahu in 2019. Michael found some coconut syrup at the farm that he really liked but we didn’t buy any. We decided to buy some from one of the grocery stores which was a different brand. He did NOT like the other brand and we haven’t heard the end of it since. So, we HAD to make sure we got him “the good stuff” on this trip.
After visiting the farm and picking up a few items, we continued South to Sherwood Beach. It was a nice drive that had some nice views and a couple of tunnels. We spent the afternoon relaxing on the beach and swimming in the waves. The kids found a small crab which they thought was pretty cool. Shortly after 3:00pm, we headed back to the house and had fun in the island traffic. At one point we were on a seven lane highway and all seven lanes were moving at a snail’s pace.
We made it back to the house around 4:30pm. We relaxed at the house for the evening. George and Ellen made us a delicious dinner of pulled pork made via their Instant Pot, rice, and some vegetables. It was very tasty. After dinner, we paid a visit to Costco and Target and picked up a few items. We returned to the house and called it a night.
