We a had a little earlier morning today. We had to go get our pre-travel COVID tests done this morning. We got up and had a quick bite to eat for breakfast. While we were having breakfast, we saw a few guys climbing the palm trees along the beach to give them a trim. We walked across the street to the Doctors On Call office to get our COVID tests at 9:00am. Patrick didn’t come with us. He didn’t need a test since he had COVID at the end of January. A previous positive diagnosis within 10 and 180 days of returning to Canada is accepted in lieu of a negative test. As expected, the tests for the rest of us were all negative. There was a grumpy couple from BC who was giving the staff a hard time about the costs of the tests while we were waiting for our results. Not very cool of them…
After the tests, we hung out at the condo for about an hour before heading to Whalers Village Mall. We checked out a few stores before going to Hula Grill for lunch. Hula Grill is another restaurant that’s related to Kimo’s and Duke’s. Hula Grill has tables in the sand so you can take off your shoes and have your meal with your toes in the sand. It’s a fun experience. We opted to have yet another Hula Pie for dessert.
Once we finished lunch, we checked out a few more stores at Whalers Village before continuing on to the Ka’anapali Golf Course to take a quick look at the items in the pro shop. Then we continued back to the condo. The kids each wanted to purchase a picture from a vendor we saw at a market the day after we arrived on Maui. The vendor told us he’d be a couple of resorts over today. So we walked over and made the purchase. He ships his prints out of California so we should see them once we get home. We were going to go to the beach and do some snorkeling, but the wind had picked up and the waves were too big for snorkeling. Instead we opted to hit the pool for a bit. We spent the rest of the afternoon and evening relaxing in the condo. We had a later dinner in the condo and relaxed on the lanai. While we were getting the kids ready for bed, a couple of tiny geckos paid us a visit on the lanai. We got the kids to bed and called it a night.
