2022-07-10: Arrival in Paris

Our plane landed shortly after 10:00am. We didn’t get a lot of sleep on the plane so we were pretty tired. The airport experience was smooth though. We walked right through border control. The border agent didn’t even say a word to us. He just stamped our passport and we were on our way. No other documentation was shown. We had to wait a while for our luggage to arrive on the baggage carousel but it did all arrive. We headed out of the airport and grabbed a taxi to our hotel.

We are staying at a hotel called Hotel Left Bank St. Germain It’s a cute hotel that’s only a couple of blocks from the Seine River. The kids each have their own beds which makes everyone happy. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived which we expected. We were able to drop off our suitcases at the hotel and headed out exploring. We had booked tickets on the Toot hop on hop off bus. We made our way to the nearest bus stop, grabbing a pastry along the way of course, and boarded the bus. The bus took us on a two and half hour tour of the major sites including the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, and the Louvre.

After the bus was done it’s route, we jumped off an headed back to the hotel. Our room was ready when we arrived. We got settled into our room and relaxed for a bit. Michael fell asleep and didn’t want to wake up after the long day of travelling. We got him awake and headed out to grab an early dinner. We went to a place called Cafe Jade around the corner from our hotel. After dinner we wandered the streets for a few minutes before returning to our hotel. We relaxed in the room for a little longer before everyone went to sleep around 8:00pm.
