It was our last day on the ship unfortunately. It is a sea day as we cruise the Inside Passage towards Vancouver. We lost an hour overnight as we moved from Alaska Time to Pacific Time.
We woke up at 9:30am and got cleaned up. They were doing a towel folding demonstration in the Centrum at 10:15 that Patrick wanted to attend. Michael elected to grab some breakfast at the Windjammer instead. The rest of us enjoyed the demonstration. They made six different towel animals; a dinosaur, a pig, an eagle, a turtle, a bunny, and a frog.
The main dining room was offering a brunch until 12:30 today, so we headed there after the demonstration. We were seated with another couple from Michigan who were on their first cruise. We had a good chat with them while we ate.
After brunch, we walked through the ship’s stores. Patrick didn’t see anything he wanted. We went to the photo gallery and gathered all our photos from the past week. We had pre-ordered 10 prints so had to narrow it down to 10. We narrowed it down to 11 instead and just paid for the extra print. They offered digital copies of the photos for an extra $30 which we agreed to. They told us to come back at 8:00pm to pick up the photos and USB stick. Patrick also picked up a towel animal photo frame that he liked.
We returned to the cabin and met up with Michael again. We started packing up our suitcases which made us sad. At 1:00pm, Darrell, Amanda, and Patrick headed to Izumi for lunch. Izumi is the sushi specialty restaurant on board. Patrick has been harassing us to go there all week so we finally caved. Michael isn’t a fan of sushi so he decided to grab some lunch from the Windjammer and meet us later. We enjoyed the sushi feast.
After lunch we returned to the cabin and finished packing while enjoying the views of the inside passage. We briefly saw a whale and a wale watching boat following that was following the whale. The scenery in the inside passage is beautiful. Michael wanted to take another look at the stores on board so Darrell took him to check them out. He picked up a shirt, sweater, and a magnet.
They had a Bon Voyage show in the theatre at 7:00pm that we all attended. They had a short performance by the onboard orchestra and then the singers and dancers before they brought Graig Murphy back onstage. He was the comedian from the first night’s show. We enjoyed his set. At the end of the show, they brought a bunch of the ship’s staff up on stage to say goodbye.
We headed to the main dining room for dinner after the show. We were sat with one other couple. We had a nice chat with them. They were staying in Vancouver for a couple of nights and then taking the Rocky Mountaineer to Calgary before flying home. The dining room staff gathered on the staircase in the dining room near the end of dinner and gave us a dance to say thank you.
After dinner we returned to our cabin and finished packing our suitcases. They had to be outside our stateroom by 10:00pm to be prepared to be loaded off the ship. The teen club was having a foosball tournament at 10:00pm so Michael disappeared to participate in that. Patrick elected not to go. We all called it a night when Michael got back.
