It was a relaxing day at the condo. Darrell had to get up early to return our rental car to the agency across the street at 8:00am. There were close to 10 cars waiting to be returned when they opened at 8:00am. Darrell returned and Michael went down to the pool while we waited for Patrick to wake up, then we made some breakfast. We hung around the condo for the rest of the morning.
Amanda had some school work to do before her Adobe InDesign class at SAIT later this afternoon so she spent the morning and early afternoon doing that. Michael hung out in the pool while Darrell and Patrick went down to the beach for the afternoon. Darrell and Patrick did some snorkeling and played in the water. They saw a bunch of sea life including a HUGE sea turtle while snorkeling. It must have been close to the size of Patrick. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the camera with them on that excursion.
Late afternoon we all returned to the condo and got cleaned up. We hung out for a bit while we waited for Amanda to finish her class before making some dinner. For some reason, the tiki torches weren’t lit up tonight. They were lit briefly last night before they went out. They must be having some sort of a problem with them. Michael went back to the pool after dinner while the rest of us chatted in the condo.
We looked up some local real estate listings. The units in this building (Honua Kai) and next door at the Mahana range from $850,000 USD for a studio to $6,000,000 for a 3 bedroom unit. The amount of money sunk into the condos at these resorts is incredible. Jim and Linda saw listings for couple of empty lots just down the beach for a measly $10,000,000 a piece. That’s down from $15,000,000 they were asking a couple of years ago. What a deal!
After dinner, Amanda and Michael headed to the pool while Patrick, Linda, and Darrell went to one of the hot tubs. Amanda and Michael joined in the hot tub before too long. There was a another couple from Calgary and a couple from Seattle (him) and Brazil (her) in the hot tub. We had a good chat with them. The mood soured when a cockroach decided to join us in the tub. Patrick swept it down one of the filters but we soon saw they were all around us. Yuck! We decided to head back to condo shortly afterwards. After returning to the condo, we got the kids to bed and called it a night.
