It was another relaxed morning. We had a small bite for breakfast at the condo and relaxed for the morning. Around 11:00am we headed into Lahaina. We decided to grab some lunch at Kimo’s, which is one of our favourite restaurants in Lahaina. It’s right along the waterfront and the food is delicious. They have Hula Pie for dessert which cannot be missed. It’s a delicious ice cream pie that was created at Kimo’s. It’s made with macadamia nut ice cream on a chocolate cookie crust and topped with chocolate fudge and macadamia nuts.
After lunch, we wandered along Front Street in Lahaina. Unfortunately, it’s looking more run down than we remember. There are several storefronts that are unoccupied and some of the stores we liked last time are no longer present. More casualties of COVID… We popped into a few stores and picked up some items to bring home. We saw a bunch of black crabs crawling along the rocks by the water which was pretty cool. We also came across a chicken and a flock of chicks which Michael loved. We managed to find some Pineapple Crush at one of the ABC stores. We really enjoy that drink and it’s usually plentiful in Hawaii, but this was the first place we’ve seen it this time. Our last stop was Hilo Hattie which is one of our favourite stores in Lahaina.
We headed back to the condo for the rest of the afternoon. We had a dinner reservation at Duke’s which is the restaurant in the resort. It’s related to Kimo’s. Duke’s is just behind the beach and is surrounded by tiki torches which gives it an amazing atmosphere. We had to have another Hula Pie for dessert.
After dinner, we headed to the pool with the kids for a bit before calling it a night.
