What a beautiful world it is when parents get to sleep in! The kids spent the night with their grandparents last night and Darrell and Amanda were able to sleep in. The kids were up and back from breakfast before their parents got up at 9 a.m.
It wasn’t long before the boys put on their detective hats and went to solve the mystery of the missing puppies… Mickey’s Detective Agency has 3 mysteries the kids can choose to solve. Missing Puppies, Stolen Paintings or Muppets and the Case of the Stolen Show. To find the clues you tour around the ship and put your detective badge up in front of certain pictures to make they interactive to get clues and locate some of the missing items. Grandma and Grandpa did the first round, while Darrell and Amanda went for breakfast in the Royal Court, before returning to their room to catch up on the travel blog… we ended up four days behind, it was time to divide and conquer. Amanda took two days and Darrell took the other half. When they boys finished their sleuthing, they returned to our room and finished watching Inside Out and followed it up with Lilo and Stitch… It is much harder to write when there are fun movies on the TV. We finally finished around 1 p.m. and it was time to take the boys for lunch, back to the buffet. After lunch we made a pit stop at the candy store next to Cabana’s. Patrick decided he wanted to go to the Oceaneers Lab for a while and Michael wanted to solve another mystery. So off they went, Darrell, Amanda and Linda in tow. Our second mystery was the missing painting and they were up and down forward, mid and aft, starboard and port… everywhere! In the end we narrowed it down to that fiend Jafar! Michael really wanted to do the last mystery, so Darrell took him out and Amanda chilled out in the room for a bit, Linda an Jim enjoyed some quiet time too.
Amanda started watching Wonder but took a break in the middle to go get Patrick from the kids’ club. He was enjoying a game of spell it with three other boys when she arrived. A few minutes later and was happy to come back to the stateroom and finish watching Wonder with his mom. Darrell and Michael appeared a little while later and determined who had stolen the Muppets props.
Time to get ready for dinner. Tonight, is semi formal. Enchanted Garden is the dining venue. Upon arrival we learned that Isabel was not feeling well so we had a different assistant waiter. He wasn’t as in sync and it seemed to throw Saul off a little bit. We enjoyed a lovely lobster dinner and some tasty desserts. Linda ordered nothing for dessert and Saul had some fun with that before entertaining us with two tricks tonight… color changing crayons and disappearing and reappearing sugar. He is a lot of fun and the kids are always so intrigued to figure out how the tricks are done. We figured out the crayon on but the sugar one remains a mystery. We ran into Stich in the Atrium, the boys gave him a hug and got their picture taken. Big smiles for both of them.
The kids decided to go enjoy the kids’ club for half and hour before joining us in the theater for tonight’s entertainment with Buckets and Boards. The show was fun with lots of percussion, a few squeaky turtles, a good sense of humor and lots of silliness. The kids thought it was awesome and want to get their own drum sticks! Hmmm, might have to talk to Memere and Pepere about a couple of buckets when we get home.
Time to wind down and get some rest. Tomorrow will be a fun filled beach day at Castaway Cay!
